SECTCo team launched a new business case for spending the Locally Commissioned Services (LCS) allocation of £2.3 mpa, (£6.9 m over 3 years 2016/19) on NICE recommended Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) 10 week courses with supporting meditations. This would help to meet the Council’s objective of ending the need for rough sleeping in the city by 2020, as agreed by the HWB on 15.12.15, following the first homelessness summit on 4.12.15, and the partnership deal with St Mungos. It would empower GPs to treat vulnerable addicts, homeless, heartsinks, criminals, etc by prescribing a new social intervention tailored for them. Read the full LCS business case.
In reference to business plan, SECTCo has lately published Specification for interventions under the Wellbeing Service 17/22 to end the need for rough sleeping by 2020. Read a full version of Specification for Wellbeing Service here.
